JM Babonneau alias Better_World_Inc., photographe & directeur artistique français, né en 1971, a depuis son enfance aimé trouver son inspiration et de nouveaux horizons en dehors des frontières de l’hexagone français. JM Babonneau vit et travaille à Copenhague, au Danemark depuis 2002, après un séjour de 3 années à Reykjavik, en Islande (1999-2002). Son travail prend la forme de projets artistiques et de performances visuelles sous le pseudonyme de Better_World_Inc., ainsi que celle de travaux photographiques de commande. Il enseigne également au cours de workshops de photographie dans des écoles d’art.
Better_World_Inc. vit le jour dans une nouvelle écrite en Islande par JM Babonneau en 1999. Une histoire humoristique et ironique relatant d’une compagnie délirante de recherche sur le génome découvrant la formule secrète pour produire des top-modèles à la chaine.
Quelques repères biographiques:
- un début de carrière en Scandinavie (Islande et Danemark, 1999-2009),
- une enfance allemande (1975-1980),
- diplômé de l’École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes (Diplôme National d’Arts Plastiques, avec félicitations du jury) en 1995,
- diplômé de l’École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie à Arles (Mastère en photographie) en 1999,
- assistant de Lucien Clergue (1997-1998), photographe de Pablo Picasso et de Jean Cocteau et co-fondateur des Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie d’Arles en 1969. Tirage d’art numérotés et signés, d’après négatif ‘vintage’ originaux, pour galeries d’art et collections américaines.

THE STORY
Better_World_Inc. is the title of a short story written by Jean-Marie Babonneau in Iceland in 2000. It is an irony piece about the delirious and humorous finding of a secret recipe for mass-producing top models by a genetic research company.
THE MAN
Copenhagen-based photographer, video director, vj, art-teacher, stop-frame animator, performer, born in France in 1971, Jean-Marie Babonneau works under the pseudonyme Better_World_Inc. when dedicating his visions & crafts to art projects & visual performances.
MULTI-CULTURAL INSPIRATION
Since his childhood, Jean-Marie has enjoyed finding inspiration and new perspectives in other cultures (in Germany 1975-1980, Iceland 1999-2002, Denmark 2003-today).
